Who is Harrow Children and Young People’s Advocacy Service for?
We provide independent advocacy support to children and young people aged between 7 and 25 years who are looked after children, care leavers, refugee and asylum seekers and those going through child protection processes. We also support young people with a range of additional and complex leaning needs. We also offer support to those want to make a complaint about their experience with social care services.
What does the service provide?
Advocacy support aims to facilitate the involvement of children and young people by:
- Supporting them through, and helping them to understand and participate in statutory processes and procedures
- Ensuring that their views and wishes are effectively represented and taken seriously
- Ensuring their rights are considered to influence decision making and care planning
If we are unable to offer advocacy support via this service, we may be able to advise you of an alternative local service.
